Winnitex is partnering with HeiQ to deliver a botanically-based odor control solution on woven fabrics.
Since 1964, Winnitex has been pushing fabric limits. Today, the company has more than 3,000 employees around the world and offers premium woven dyed fabrics. With policies on raw materials, carbon targets, and restricted substances, Winnitex recognises the importance of building a responsible textile supply chain. To ensure alignment with its ESG initiatives, Winnitex carefully selects its chemical partners.
HeiQ is a Swiss high-tech company focused on material innovations and ingredient branding for industries including sports, outdoor, clothing, and more. Their specialties include textiles, coatings and polymers, probiotics and finished goods.
HeiQ Life utilizes the power of peppermint oil as the active ingredient – a natural, renewable and sustainable source – that combats body odors by inhibiting the growth of odor-causing bacteria on textiles. The natural antimicrobial properties of peppermint oil used in HeiQ Life contribute to the control of odors. With this effective odor control textile technology, garments made with these fabrics will decrease laundering needs, which in turn will conserve water, reduce detergents entering the sewage channels, and lower energy consumption. HeiQ Life is OEKO-TEX® suited, ZDHC compliant, meets the bluesign® criteria.
Winnitex is launching two new products for Spring/Summer 2024 that will feature HeiQ Life. One will feature a 78% cotton / 22% polyester twill blend (4.5oz); the other will be a 53% cotton / 44% polyester / 2% spandex sateen blend (8.6oz).
“The collaboration with HeiQ will enable us to continually pioneer the woven textile space with plant-based, sustainably sourced alternatives such as HeiQ Life. We're dedicated to advancing ingredients and additives that deliver outstanding results, while still being mindful of their environmental impact,” said Ann Ho, Sales Director at Winnitex.
